When you quit your job, you finally have the time to do all the things you ever wanted to do, but never had the time. Well, not exactly. After years of writing financial analysis and credit opinions I was convinced that writing is my least favorite activity, to put it mildly. To my greatest surprise, everything changed when I started writing about things that really interest me - people and travel. I spent most of my trip writing.
It started as a convenient way to post pictures and keep in touch with friends and family. It grew to be one of Travelpod's top rated blogs, visited close to 35,000 times by people from Argentina to Vietnam.
My pictures from Nepal even inspired a comics artist in Peru. Her comic is about a princess that ditches her kingdom to go backpacking. I kid you not! You can check it out here, but it is in spanish...

LIGHT is the in-line magazine of Capital, one of the most reputable national newspapers in Bulgaria. I asked them if they want to publish couple of my stories, they asked me if I would like to be their Travel/Adventure columnist. My wildest dream has come true - I became a travel writer.
I published 22 articles, each telling the story of a local person I met during my trip - about a porter in Nepal, a nomad in Tibet, a winemaker in Tasmania, a mustering pilot in the Outback of Australia, etc., etc. Inspiration was plentiful, but time was tight. Eventually, I had to give up the column to focus on the blog.
The articles were published in Bulgarian, but you can read the original versions in English in a special section on my blog - The World From Other People's Point of View.
All my earned from this project I contributed to Room To Read for 100 Girls Back To School.
